Please check with the Rental Summary (provided to you when you viewed your property) or the Useful Information Poster (provided when you collect your keys) to find out which utilities your flat uses:
- all properties are subject to Council Tax, although full-time students are exempt and there are discounts for single-occupiers – check with Manchester City Council.
- all properties have Electricity.
- all properties have Water although there are different payment arrangements in some so please check with us.
- not all properties have Gas (some have electric heating with Economy 7).
It is important that you ensure that you have setup accounts for all of the above for the full period of your Tenancy as we will need to be provided with proof that you have paid (or been exempt for) your full responsibility before we will be able to return your Deposit at the end of your Tenancy. Glide
You should have signed up to Glide Utilities when you signed your Tenancy Agreement for all the Utilities supplied to your property. If this is not the case please contact us immediately to request an application form.
Glide will be your one-stop-shop for all your utilities, you can even use them for your TV License, Phone and Broadband connections!
You and each of your flatmates pay a fixed monthly fee by Direct Debit and at the end of your Tenancy your actual utility usage will be calculated based on meter readings and any difference will be paid back to you (or billed to you if you have used more than expected!).

Council Tax
We will inform Manchester City Council of your name(s) and the start date of your Tenancy and they will setup a Council Tax Account for you. If you are a student it is your responsibility to arrange for the Council to apply your exemption.
If you do not hear from the Council we recommend that you contact them to make sure they have taken notice of the information we provide them. (email at ctax.enquiries@manchester.gov.uk)
